Cycling Club

About the Club

The Cycling Club was founded in 2002 and has evolved in the last 10 years from a small group of friends riding and racing to a 120+ member club that is a leader within the community and provincial cycling scene.

Today the club represents all disciplines of cycling including touring, commuting, free riding and racing.  Whether it’s suffering hard on the indoor trainer, exploring a new trail, hanging out at the local café or cruising down Whyte Avenue on an Electra, the motto hasn’t changed; “Be healthy, active, and above all have fun.”  The end result is a dynamic environment that has far reaching effects.

The Grassroots Cycling Club is unique as it continues to encourage and reward participation.  It encourages recreational riders to explore the local area by joining weekly club rides. We encourage enthusiasts to improve their skills and fitness by participating in midweek training rides and Provincial events.

For the 2013 season, the Cycling Club will be offering two different Learn to Ride Clinics for new women riders. We will be offering one mountain bike and one road course comprised of four 1.5hr sessions.
